Fort Collins was largely spared of the from the destructive hail that tore through the state. While our town was lucky to have had only tiny hail the destruction that happened to our neighboring cities is an unfriendly reminder of what mother nature can do to our property. Monday storm dumped 2 inches of rain, hail Monday afternoon's storm brought more than 2 inches of rain and quarter-size hail to parts of Northern Colorado.
The storm beat down hardest on Greeley and Weld County, as hail piled up in snow-like blankets and stressed commuters fought through waterlogged roads. Fort Collins was mostly spared from hail, according to reports, and saw about a quarter-inch to half an inch of rain.
Forecasters predict continued storms through the week. Showers and potentially a thunderstorm are in store for Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
